I live in Taranto, or I am visiting: can I book a dentist?
A dental practice in Taranto
Studio Dentistico Conte is a dental practice for adults and children in Taranto, in southern Italy, a short walk from the Co-cathedral by Gio Ponti. It was founded in 2004 by Dr Antonella Conte, dentist, who is its medical director.
From abroad, the practice is on +39 0997351564 and the mobile, also on WhatsApp, on +39 3926719627. Email: infostudiodentisticoconte.it. Please do not write health details in messages: tell us by phone, or at the visit.

Your first visit
It starts with a conversation.
At the front desk you are welcomed and asked the first questions about your health: illnesses, medicines, allergies and past treatments. Then, in a first talk with the office staff, you explain what you need and what worries you. The dentist examines your mouth and, if needed, takes X-rays, and explains what needs doing, what can wait, the alternatives and the timing. Costs are discussed at the office, with a written estimate for the whole treatment (if more tests are needed, it comes after them).
Please bring an ID, the list of your medicines and any recent dental X-rays. Children are welcome: the waiting room has a play area.
Treatments
Check-ups and hygiene, fillings, root canal treatment, gum disease, dental implants (in suitable patients, after a thorough visit), crowns, bridges and dentures, fixed braces, removable braces for children and clear aligners, veneers, whitening, wisdom teeth, mouthguards for sport, dental care in pregnancy, conscious sedation, children's dentistry.
Every treatment page is in Italian: start from the list of treatments.
Toothache or a broken tooth?
Call the practice during opening hours. If an adult tooth is knocked out, every minute counts: hold it by the crown, rinse it briefly in cold water, put it back in its socket if you can, or keep it in milk, and call the practice at once; out of hours, go straight to the emergency department. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or a swelling spreading to the eye or down to the neck, call 112, the single emergency number, at any hour. Out of hours, with bleeding that won't stop or a high fever, go to the emergency department. In Italian: what to do right away.
How to get here
The practice is a few steps from the Co-cathedral Gran Madre di Dio, the white modern church by Gio Ponti that everyone in Taranto knows. There is a car park about 15 metres away, and city buses 3 and 8 stop near the Co-cathedral. Map and directions, in Italian: where we are.
